Frankie did NOT have cancer he had polyps on the throat which is very common with singers. Its hit or miss with his voice being the 1 you remember and the one you hear on stage right now but most of the time the crowd is loving every minute. Its all about love at a maze concert cause....WE ARE 1

Didn't Frankie have/survive some type of cancer...throat maybe, a few years ago? That might be why his voice isn't sounding as strong as it use to. Not to mention if he had a concert the night before that may be a factor as well. I mean he is 63! Maze and Frankie, no matter WHAT, are still a Phenomenal group! There needs to be some type of honor given to them by their peers.

What has happened to the silky soulful voice that we grew up with? I love Frankies music. However, I would not want to pay good money to hear bad or worn out vocals. Don't flame me. Just keepin' it real. There is a time when old ballers earn the bench and the cleats come off. We all accept the inevitability of this, and so do they. An old, fat, guy who can no longer slam a basketball or nail a 20ft jumper is not entertainment, even if his name is Michael jordan.

i love me some frankie beverly..i just saw him may 8th 09 baltimore Peir six..i put a couple of videos on my page check it out...and also i was here last year african heritage festival in baltimore....
