Handlung: In "Sherlock Holmes: Spiel im Schatten" spielt Robert Downey Jr. erneut den berühmtesten Detektiv der Welt - unterstützt von Jude Law als seinem unerschütterlichen Kollegen Dr. Watson.

Niemand war je in der Lage, Sherlock Holmes' Scharfsinn zu überbieten ... bis jetzt. Ein neuer genialer Verbrecher macht die Welt unsicher: Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris). Er ist Holmes nicht nur intellektuell gewachsen - durch seine skrupellose Bösartigkeit könnte er dem legendären Detektiv sogar überlegen sein.

Als der österreichische Kronprinz tot aufgefunden wird, glaubt Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan) aufgrund der Indizien an Selbstmord. Doch Sherlock Holmes kombiniert, dass der Prinz ermordet wurde - und zwar im Rahmen eines grausigen Komplotts, das ein gewisser Professor Moriarty schmiedet.
