I was so in love with Sajid! I remember some magazine showed pictures of a girl who won a date with Sajid--I was SO jealous. Looking back, I wonder if that really happened or it was staged. I LOVED that guy!

Yes, the date was real from Tiger Beat. We heard from the winner just last year who recalled her date at our Sajid yahoo group (see our tribute website for link). Sajid also recalls the date!

Terry never found his father in the series. There was to be a second season but the network cancelled the show because it was too difficult filming overseas back then. TV Guide had a story about the filming of Maya back in the sixties.

I was already a fan of Jay North from Dennis the Menace. Loved his real red hair after seeing him fake blonde for so long. What a jewel of India Sajid Khan was for us in America! I bought his record Ha Ram when it was released. Sweet memories!

I've got the name of sahid because this series, my mom gave it to me when i was born. because she was in love of this guy too :D the only thing is, that she miss the 'J' for the 'H' but until now is when i meet the guy of her old dreams. that was all most 37 years ago!

i was so in love with Sajid Khan back in the day as well. i even joined his fan club, such fond memories. my dream was to go to India and find him.

i remember the girl that won a date with Sajid from Tiger Beat. i was jealous also but happy for her as the same time, what a lucky girl.

i wish Sajid Khan would make a new Maya movie, how cool would that be.
