  • I was blessed enough to know both Wiley and Zeke. Zeke gave me an autographed album several years before he died. Great guys and very talented. Miss you both very much.

  • I have a DVD by Earl Scruggs from the early 70's that features a visit with Wiley and Zeke.

  • Can it still be found? I would love to have a copy!

  • There's several listed on eBay right now. Item number 370074429606 is one of them but you may be able to find a better price.

  • Yeeeeeeee Haaaaaaawwwww!

Brings back memories of the Beverly Hillbillies, Hee Haw, and The Darlings from the old Andy Griffith Show...

  • Lordy Be!! I was raised on bluegrass music. I am from the hills of Eastern Kentucky and bluegrass music was one of the staples of life there.Flatt and Scruggs is one of my fave bluegrass duos. Keep the music alive!!!

  • Honey let be your salty dog

  • I remember Lester and Earl playing this in my daddys garage. I sang with them, I was 3 years old. I have always loved this song!

  • ... Wow sounds like a 78 playing this - I remember winding the handle of our record player and having to change the needle every 10 plays ... ahhh those were the days ....

  • If you don't love this music, there is some fundamental value you are surely overlooking. If there was only one contribution to the realm of music by Americans, I would choose Bluegrass--it represents so much of the American spirit--the frontier, living off the land, and simplicity, yet simultaneously a work of harmonic and technical prowess: a perfect blend of American values.

    God bless Bluegrass.

  • It is Benny Sims singing. It was recorded at their last Mercury session and they were saving their "best" material for their upcoming Columbia session. But some of the "throwaway" songs they recorded at that last session, "Salty Dog" "Roll in my Sweet Baby's Arms", "Doing my Time", "Farewell Blues", etc. became F&S classics.

  • Love it.

  • That sounds like Benny Sims singinging and playing fiddle I dont hear any Morrtis BNros.

  • Zeke is my grandfather...

When I found the video of Wiley, zeke, Earl and randal I got all choked up...

    I'm being completly serious...
