  • My very first dance band 78 was this tune and Miss Annabell Lee on a HMV 78 the band i have forgotten, but played it over and over!My very first 78 was Gracie Fields doing Smile When You say Goodbye,i took it to school c 1984,and another boy played it on his nans battered portable-i recall he brought a boring eclipse of amazing grace to play!I recall some of the older teachers born in the 20s being quite taken to hear it again.

  • Again another favourite given the Jack Payne injection. A young Bing and Paul Whiteman was my first initiation to this excellent tune.
