Vanishing Volvo

How I spent a week of vacation - parting out a car to support Olaf; our '89 Volvo 240 Wagon. The only thing that went to the "dump" was recyclable sheet metal and the headliner - which I accidently ripped while removing. I saved everything else...I just have to make room to store it all!

I'm confused - the body on that one looked to be very solid? What warranted the harvest?

The body was nearly perfect and it pained me to hack it apart. The car was sold/bought for parts. Actually, the folks I bought it from had bought it just for the tail gate. The tranny had a bad bushing/seal - that's the only problem I found. I did save some key body panel like the rear wheel wells etc. I always disassemble my parts cars like this so I have the parts handy and don't have to go out in the middle of winter to harvest a fuel pump in the snow!
