is this really a v79? or is it a vx? i have a vx, and its a brazilliaburst, just like this one, and everything else looks identical....

yes it is for ertain a Dean V79 in Brazillaburst finish. The wood, pickups and hardware are much better on the V79 than on the cheaper VX model.

hey, im thinkin of buyin a new guitar, should i go for the 79 ml, a bc rich mockingbird special or an epiphone les paul custom

depends on what much genre you want to play. A LP will not give you the same tone as a BC or ML, etc. If you are going for metal get a BC or ML

Hey guys
I just bought a dean v 79. theres one problem which disturbs me a lot.
The paint on the fingerboard on the upper 6 frets is already gone. What can I do to stop that?
Is there any kind of oil or something?
Btw Ive got a very heavy gauge .070 .050 .038 .017 .012 .010

There is usually not paint on fretboard and it is usually just varnished rosewood. At the store we use lemon oil or fretboard conditioner (which is really just lemon oil) to keep the fretboard fresh looking. Lemon oil conditions the wood and keps it from dying out.
