Bluefin Tuna is disappearing from the sea.  Demand keeps prices high - which means people will keep fishing Bluefin Tuna until there is none left.  Obviously this is an unsustainable situation.  In Cartagena, in southern Spain, scientists from the EU's Selfdott research project are researching how to farm Bluefin Tuna. So every night in July they take a boat and go out to collect eggs from two cages containing 60 Bluefin Tuna.

  • @greenfish13 it already is outnumbering wild caught tuna.

  • Aquaculture will grow more important for those who rely on the sea for food, and there very well may come a day when farmed fish on the market outnumbers the amount wild caught fish. Lets face it the demand for seafood is only going up. So this video makes me happy to see that some one is trying to successfully raise tuna as opposed to the aussies who are ranching them.

  • stop commercial fishing for these fish. Japan is a major cause of these fish die.

  • We've known about overfishing for decades, but economy always trumps nature unfortunately. We won't be happy until the sea harbors nothing but plankton.
