Also, any prestigious film / TV franchise or Pop Culture Icon could had its own source material, even if it is not popular; there's people who still like reading those Fleming's stories, even more than watching the 007 films.

Did you know that Fleming's books were written during the 50's? Did you that Fleming's books are actually the source material for the film franchise? Back in the 50's, those novels were popular, but how dare you compare those novels with novels for new generations like Harry Potter and Twilight.
