The word "legend" is often used to describe veteran folk/rocker Jonathan Edwards, whose 1971 million-selling song "Sunshine" ("go away today...") brought him instant fame. Since that time, Jonathan has been going strong. He has recorded 15 albums, collaborated with artists like Emmylou Harris and Jimmy Buffett, performed in theater, commercials, movie soundtracks, and a TV series, and produced records. In this program, Jonathan visits MiND studios to discuss and perform his legendary anti-war song, "Sunshine". Also, check out Jonathan's MiND studio performances of "One Day Closer" and "Shanty".

  • when are people going to open their blind eyes and see that this goverment enslaves us? you cant even work or own property without being forced to hand over money.. what kind of retard thinks thats what freedom is? you all keep playing this democracy game, and you will always be a slave to the majority.. they are spreading democracy world wide because they are creating a socialist world in which nobody will have individual rights or freedom.. when will you people get a damn clue?

  • great song have always loved this song, the words are timeless......

  • im a big fan and thats my dads name!

  • would have been better if he would have just shut up and sang

  • This song was my earworm today. :)

  • I have owned this album for a long time. For me, "Sunshine" not only has an anti-war sentiment but also an anti-government sentiment which is applicable today. Jonathan Edwards is an under appreciated folk singer whose music I highly recommend. "Honky Tonk Stardust Cowboy" is also an album worth listening to. Be blessed !

  • Reminds me of my anti-war hippy days!

  • 80F, no wind & clear sky in Manhattan Beach today (Los Angeles), in January.

Rode my bicycle 25 miles on the beach bike path, sweated out last night's beer & hummed this tune most of the way.

Singer-songwriters this good are rare these days.

    Take care now...

  • I love this song and I love this man. Keep on singing for us Jonathan!

  • Jonathian Edwards, I remember this song being sung at my 5th grade teacher Mr. Coopers, birthday party at Feather River Elementary school in Challenge Ca. Will never forget this song. Had a major crush on my teacher. My favorite uncle got drafted to vietman (I cried) brothers were called to service and I remember my teacher who was 25 saying war did not solve a thing. Thankyou for this song, still loving it.
