  • @Mehranathon Indeed it does and it's Friday evening which makes it time for my fix from this group with this beautiful performance; has been another trying week. Thanks for the interesting discussion.

  • @Gary2837 Not at ALL offended. I just appreciate that a gay men's choir is singing a piece that says "He that ruleth over men must be just." Gay men speaking to the spiritual alignment of a patriarchy. Blessed be. Mind you-- I'd prefer a comment about the need for matriarchy... but this remains a gorgeous performance and a gorgeous sentiment.

  • @Mehranathon Please don't be offended that I may be disagreeing with you in part, but instead, could it be possible they are doing so well with this piece because of the director's abilities to draw from an extremely talented group of men, trained and some not so trained, the sounds with which we are being blessed? Just for discussion and I'm enjoying our discussion (anyone is welcome for input) . What are your thoughts?

  • @Mehranathon Not that it would have made a difference but I didn't know it was "a gay men's choir" until last week June 11 and it is now June 18. There is no denying the abilities this great choir has gay or straight and I would love to be a part of it (gay or straight). I'm only concerned about quality of pitch, voices, abilities and everyone's commitment to one commom goal (making beautiful music). I'm so moved that I have it on jump drive and listen at work when I have the chance (laugh).

  • @Gary2837 you made me listen to it again after all this time. First of all, I posted it all over my facebook. Secondly, I think if you really listen to this... a gay men's choir... makes so much sense to be the ones to singing this movement. This CHOIR, in particular... what savvy they express. No one overplaying the sentiment... so, so, SO on the same page with the emotional colors of the piece. I gag in respect.

  • @Mehranathon Ditto!!! And, I return every Friday night to end my difficult and trying week.

  • Amazing diction, tone, vowel shaping, feel, and outstanding dynamics. I took part in the singing of this song in my last year of the Tennessee Allstate Men's Chorus. One of the best choral experiences of my life! This was a very passionate and powerful performance of this piece. I must say this was beautiful.

  • @bestminstrel Well!! What are you waiting on or was it "trash talk"? If you are such a great pianist you would have posted and not attempted to belittle. I'd like to see video of you playing; however, it could easily be someone else and not you. I'm inclined to feel as Gary does. There is nothing wrong with this guy's playing; he is just as expressive as the great chorus and simply following the director as all musicians should. Peace, and let this gentleman play his piano.

  • @wigglesza Don't mind the patch just listen to the beautiful voices and be swept gently into the heavens.
