Actually, tobacco growing around the world, pursued by corporate interest, displaces farmers and food staple crops in parts of our merry Globe; subtracting food from the mouths of the displaced common farmers and their former customers. Tobacco growing degrades arable farmland and pollutes chemically. Finally, on a subtle psy level, it's interesting to draw comparison between the macro self destructive tendencies in society and the micro self destructive behavior of individuals.

This doesn't really make sense
why would you bring global troubles into smoking?
instead you could say cut back on gas or donate to the needy
but smoking?
there are so many more important things to worry about.
quitting smoking is not going to help famine
