anyone interested in this kind of stuff should look to skin graft records in chicago, which in the 90s put out US Maple (née Shorty / Singer), Scissor Girls (née Bride of No No / Azita), Omoide Hatoba, and many, many other chancers like that and called it Now Wave. Maybe you can't beat the originals, but that stuff is more fun in my opinion.
