Tony the brain (alesis dm5) makes the sound. You need to amplify it or use headphones. I use an electronic mixer to combine the drum sounds with my mp3 player and then amplify it . I can also just plug headphones into my mixer to hear both the music and my playing.

ok thanks a lot and to amplify it with out the head phones could i use a guitar amp

you can. depending on your amp quality it may or may not sound good. Most guitar amps dont support the full range...but they are cheaper than amps built for drums...I use a guitar amp sometimes but its only 15 watts and thats pretty pitiful..lol

Hi,
The music is from Trans Siberian Orchestra. The ION drum set was about $280, The DM5 was about 225 on ebay, the Hi-hat was another 40 dollars or so on ebay. The kick pedal and pad combo was I think about $70. If you shop on ebay things are less expensive..sometimes..
Thanks for viewing.!!
