    Actually you are wrong.

    Easter is the festival of the goddess Ēostre, who dates back to at least two centuries before Jesus supposedly existed. She was a proto-Germanic fertility goddess, whose symbol was the rabbit. Hence easter eggs (fertility) and the easter bunny. Christianity later claimed the festival, just like Christmas and the Roman festival in honour of their god Saturn on 25th December.

    Exactly. Answers In Genesis is a perfect example of that type of brainwashing. They clearly state that if the evidence contradicts the bible, then it's not the bible that is wrong.

    You can't debate against that level of confirmation bias.

    These rituals are just pagan rituals in essence. They have to do with the solstices and equinoxes. The symbolism that Christianity has is mostly that, stolen idols in order to convert people with more ease. If you have the same festivals, odds are they'll join, or it will at least make it easier to assimilate them through a couple of generations or with a sword under their throat.

    It's all politics and social control, but try explaining that to some brainwashed nut.
