One nice lazy quiet afternoon with a beautiful Northern Mockingbird singing most of the afternoon along with many other birds including a Morning Dove, and all the outdoor cats doing their sleeping, socializing, and other duties, in their secure backyard. They have many places to sleep and play. Special made places high up in the Wisteria and Wood vines where they can enjoy themselves in a safe and secure environment. They also have their own large electrically heated house for the winter. These are all rescue cats, spayed ,neutered, and some I have had for many years and are in their teens. The gray bobtailed cat is Hardy. I found him 5 years ago starved, struggeling in a foot of snow in an alley, and he had been run over by a car. He had his tail broken in 3 places, and it was dead on the end, and I had to have it bobbed. I kept him in on the sun porch for a few weeks and discovered he had no bladder control due to a spinal injury from being run over. He now does very well outdoors, but due to his trauma is not very sociable with other cats. He and Morris have been having an on going, but harmless, feud for years. In the middle of the video you can see Morris stalking Hardy behind the bush. Hardy will get on my lap and is friendly with me but that is all. The first white cat emerging from his sleeping place, and caught spraying the bush is Tommy, rescued about 4 years ago. The second white cat caught squating doing his duties is named Rugby. He also was injured and is blind in one eye. He is now fat and healthy and doing very well. The gray cat in the lawn chair is Chloe, and she is about 15. Some tom cats will continue to spray when outdoors even when neutered, and others like Rugby don't. The black cat on the bench is Bogie . Morris the orange cat was rescued about 4 years ago. They once had a rough life but not any more, and they never leave their yard.

  • As this is playing Cooper keeps looking over at the laptop, like "hey Dad, the patio door's closed, how come I hear birds?" LOL I love watching contented cats. The white one, male? Deaf? And what's the story on the grey one? You really have a beautiful yard - I kind of miss having a yard to take care of

  • @75capriceconvertible Hi Bill My vet asked me the same thing about Rugby the white cat. I guess a lot of male white cats with blue eyes are deaf, but I have put him to the test and he isn't deaf, but he is blind in one eye. Not sure if it was injured or if he was born that way. Hardy the gray cat was run over by a car and his tail had to be removed. That also caused him some permanent nerve damage to his spine, and he can't always control his bladder, but otherwise he does ok.

  • i haven't seen this one.it reminds me back in the the late 1980s and early 1990s when i had 3 female cats(2 passed away in the late 1990s,the 3rd one 2001)would lay around outside and sleep almost all day, without much of a peep out of them.cute cats you got.thanks for showing them.

  • This video always makes me smile! :-)

  • what a good way to spend your day :) The garden looks really nice.

  • I wouldn't want to leave your yard either if I was a cat! Your yard is absolutely amazing! So peaceful and beautiful flowers- it looks like it belongs on Better Homes and Gardens Magazine! Your cats are loved!

  • @maynardcat I had friends years back with a white male, one green eye and one blue eye, he was deaf and a very beautiful specimen and very loving, he did just fine without hearing! Rugby is gorgeous. Poor Hardy! I see how he got his name! My heart just breaks for kitties who have gone through hardships. They just need even more love and attention and reassurance. Cooper was neglected; full of matts and had nearly half his back shaved. That's why I just spoil him so rotten! He needs it!!

  • sweet cat und nice garden

  • So sweet .. renews my faith in mankind !!
