Untitled Henry Strong Project
A bit about me:
I studied Architecture at Uni then studied an MA for CGI in Architecture and have now been working as a designer for 5 years.
But film has always been a huge passion of mine, so I am trying hard to find work within the film industry.
Instead of going back to university for 3 years for an academic qualification, I wanted to try and gain some pratical, hands on experience in the industry.
I decided on the idea of making a film trailer as my Showreel utilising my CGI and filming skills.
The 4 minute concept film trailer above is what I have created so far. I have primarily constructed this in 3DS Max, Some Maya and Aftereffects. This will be streamlined to around 2 minutes, with the remaining time used for green screening and motion capture segments.
The project so far...
I have constructed this project myself with no external help and I hope what I have produced showcase some of my abilities.
Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Synopsis:
Earth 2076.
As predicted, the polar ice caps melted, leaving the planet virtually landless.
Huge mega cities were built in the sea, surrounded by walled dams to keep mankind safe.
The air captain 'Forlorn', went on many expeditions in search of land with her airship, only to return this time to the city in ruin.
She will find the true reason why this happen and where everyone has gone..
How did u learn to use 3ds max so well? Did you go to collage for it?

@Clambercty Thanks dude, Everything I know is self taught. I have been using 3DS Max for about 7 years now.
I did studied Architecture at Uni, which was the reason I started using it. But they don't teach you the program on the course, they let you learn it yourself.

wow really nice... and what about rendering??? was it going long?
WEMBERSOLT 5 months ago
@WEMBERSOLT thanks bud. The render time was over 3 months, so around 1000 hours of rendering. I usually render through the night and model during the day. a lot of that time is taken up with just adding more and more to a scene, but you have to scrap what you have made previously. Each scene is around 1500 frames and I usually only use say 8 seconds of footage!
The systems I use is an i7 (2nd Gen) with 16GB of Ram + i5 with 32 gig of Ram (plus a lot of patience) ;-)
