commenters who call this guy a chickenhawk are idiots. So lemme see... you have to fight in the war to be allowed to support the war? or else you're a chickenhawk? The guy's not a soldier, he's a journalist - pure and simple. Journalists are allowed to be pro-Iraq War and it doesn't make them chickenhawks.

My point was merely to comment on the fact that Bill Kristol understands some of the anxiety this woman is experiencing because he has a son doing the same things this woman's husband is doing.

I feel bad for her and understand how she feels (my father served 30 years in the armed forces and missed my birth because he was deployed and I now have several close friends and family members serving overseas), but just because she's had that experience does it give her the right to call him a liar?

agree on the draft--only democratic way (or republican for that matter) to conduct a war(s). Oh, and in ancient Rome, the war hawks actually led the legions on the field of battle. how would that be, chicken-hawks?

the reason there is no draft is because they know they would have another vietnam situation on there hands where a lot of soldiers start deciding they dont want to go or be there. and if the soldiers dont show up, How will they have their war? How will they take away our rights? How will they make their money?

I read a quote of Krisot's once, where he was said to have said his allegiance is to Israel. As you may not know, Jews are one of the few allowed to hold dual citizenship in the US. This to me is not Constitutional.
