Again I agree...
Do I understand that Yngwie Signature strat is coming out of the plant stock with a 250k volume pot but with HS-3's? If so that is typical cluelessness by Fender.

Hey Metalgod sounds like you and I are on the same sheet of music! I had my 308 modded with old 741 op amp by analogue man, then did further mods myself. I changed the clipping diodes to germanium, put in funky old ceramic disc caps and put a switch to toggle between fat 10nf input cap and cleaner 2nf. Yes PPIMV is the best master volume design there is (there is a better version than the "rich mod" btw) but nothing beats a cranked marshall!

Hey glad you found the problem! See my rant about 500k pots on Harmony central HS-3 review..but don't take offense! Yes HS-3's need 500k volume pot if you want it to sound like a strat. I installed a pull pot on the treble knob on my 50 so I can take the 680nf cap in or out when ever I want. Also make sure your bright cap is proper spec for Yngwie tone. 4.7nf is classic early 70's spec but if that is too bright and nasty try 1nf. Lately I've decided 4.7nf is too much.

Hey, I flattered! But sorry I am very undisciplined when it comes to electric. I play like I cook; never the same results twice which could be avoided if I took the time to write down what I did!

Great playing. Have you written the tablature down for this bit? If you have...send over a copy of it...I wonder how well I can play this lovely tune.
If 500k pots aren't enough, just cut out the middle man and go for a 1 mega ohm.

Ha ha, you could but that would make these pickups sound VERY lean and bright. THe load of the pot shapes the frequency curve of the pick up. So higher values you get a steeper, narrower presence peak...

Hey! ;) Sounds just awesome!
I've got the same amp ;) Can you remember the settings of the amp? Is the amp modded or did you use pedals?

Hi, Thanks! The amp was only modded with a post phase inverter master volume, no gain mods. It was however rebuilt with ptp board and set up for early 70's specs not 60's plexi as it was stock. I also use a DOD 250 overdrive pedal ala Yngwie. Check my other videos which have more thorough equipment explanations.
