This original tune is a tribute to the music Yuzo Koshiro did for the original Streets of Rage. When Modplug Tracker finally supported VSTi for the first time, I was so excited that I whipped up this tune in a couple hours to test it. Before that, I'd never used a VST before, lol :)
Utilizes Synth1 and MDA DX10.

Edit: Sorry for uploading and deleting this so much. Youtube keeps fucking up the time somehow and cutting off the tune way too early D:

  • i like it! not sure what this has to do with Streets of Rage tho? somebody know?

  • Reminds me a little of Golden Axe, nice mix though.

  • very catchy song :)

  • Hah, I loved that game. Played it with my sister all the time.

  • the most powerful tracker I can't even track with. I'm not going to lower my expectations for a product that they're making money off of, not when MPT does a fine job already :\

  • I wouldn't criticize the whole program just on that. It is the most powerful tracker.

  • *and in fact, if I remember correctly, it is hard-coded to utilize key presets most similar to Fast Tracker II. You can reconfigure a lot of key combos, but the note keys themselves as I remember it remained completely unmappable (including note-cut and note-off signals, which are in a different place for every tracker)

  • I'm not confused. Trackers, in that they traditionally utilized your computer keyboard (not a controller) would typically have a key scheme in it which you used to input notes into the patterns. Most were hard-coded, but people got used to the layouts of their favorite tracker, and would be very unproductive in another environment without these presets. That's why in most modern trackers, they let you reconfigure the layout. As of the last Renoise I used (1.9?), it didn't do this. :(
