Live in Berlin...

Lyrics:

Over my shoulder goes one care
Over my shoulder go two cares
Why should I cry?
Its blue above
I'm free at last and I'm in love

Over my shoulder goes three cares
Over my shoulder go four cares
Bye bye to trouble
It's gone beyond recall
Over my shoulder goes it all!

  • This is "class".

  • @band222

    Hi friend in the U.K..

Thank´s a lot for the "warm" words.

I LOVE Max and his Orchester too

AND ....... the famous english Tommy Cooper who R.I.P.

Not as a musician but also very famous and unique!

  • Thanks to all the foreign fellows ............ giving their nice comments to

    Max Raabe and his team.

It´s fine to see that Max Raabe and his orchestra is a very good german ambassador playing international music of the Golden 20 and 30!

  • Terrific band! Like to see them do Isham Jones, or Whiteman. Outstanding work!

  • to me, the big band jazz of 1920's--1940's was the absolute pinnacle of western music. ever since that golden age passed, things have been in a downward spiral straight into the gutter, with no signs of stopping any time soon. that's why our generation have to content with the horrid noise they call "music" today. im truly glad that some people like max and his band are working hard to keep jazz true to its essence. now all we need is for some composers to write some real music like this.

  • Yeah, that percussionist is livin' the dream : )

  • The great Max Raabe and the incomparable Palast Orchestra. They always lift my spirits. This accomplished, polished ensemble is second to none. The orchestral arrangements are inventive, often playful, and never anything less than a feast for the ears. And Max is, of course, in a category all by himself. I hope it's not too lonely at the top.

  • @FlowersInHisHair *lol* made my day!

  • 1:12 - 1:15 How much does the percussionist love his job? Lots I reckon!

  • Lovezzzzz it.

  • @band222 Lucky you!! How I envy your finding them 8 years ago. I found them only a few months ago when their show from Carnegie Hall aired. I have been making up for lost time by watching everything on youtube - over and over, while buying DVDs and CDs as I can. Can't get enough of these talented guys.

    Best Wishes from New York

  • @worldecho Joe Loss!! I knew I hadn't dreamt it! Thanks for your help. Didn't know it was a Sid Phillips.

  • @tavriadriver Hi there - they are using the arrangement by Sid Phillips which was recorded in the UK by the Joe Loss Band in 1934. This band is note-perfect - well done Palast Orchester!

  • ray noble and al bowly.......................... much slower and better i think!!!

just discovered this max guy and hes good, no, hes brill, buti dont like this one!!

  • @iBook3503332 - I am on the other end of the age spectrum and I write to agree with you, and congratulate you on your good taste at such a tender age.

  • Beautiful, just beautiful. Spectacular arrangement as always, guys.

  • @tavriadriver Just listened to the Roy Fox and it isn't! But I know the arrangement from somewhere... anyone know where?

  • @leapingoutofwater its mostly more enjoyable if this music is connected to some personal experiences, true. Feel the same way.

  • This band kicks some serious ass.

  • my grandfather actually wrote lyrics for this style of music in New York back in the 30s, and even though I've never heard his songs- lost to history- and never heard much of this growing up, I just can't get enough now. It is gorgeous, classy, and fun!

  • i want to be like max when i grow up, yes i am only 14 and i love this style of music

  • @kilofranz

Over my shoulder goes one care; over my shoulder go two cares

Why should I cry - it's blue above

I'm free at last and I'm in love

Over my shoulder go three cares; over my shoulder go four cares

Bye bye to trouble - it's gone beyond recall

Over my shoulder goes it all!

Now in return, can anyone give me the German lyrics to Hor mein lied, Violetta? There are one or two bits I can't quite get.

    Thanks!

  • I think the last lines are:

    Bye bye to trouble,

    It's gone beyond recall

Over my shoulder goes it all

    A wonderful little tune anyhow

  • wtf........what kind of song is this?
