The Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 is a 16 in / 8 out, bus-powered FireWire audio interface, featuring two high quality Focusrite Mic Preamps. It forms the basis of a high quality, incredibly portable professional recording system.

Twenty-five years of mic preamp excellence form the foundation of this new interface, with two award-winning Focusrite preamps. These combine with the very latest in mix control software and Firewire interfacing technology to deliver seamless integration, excellent routing flexibility and rock-solid driver stability.

This video features a live recording session with Myles Sanko, featuring the Focusrite Saffire PRO 24, KRK RP6 monitors and Blue Bluebird microphone. Pro Tools 9 is used alongside the Focusrite Midnight plugin suite, providing compression and EQ.

  • My plugins are installed but don't show in my DAW. I've reinstalled the software a couple of time and still the same results. Do you have any advice?

  • @utoob3r It would probably be best to make contact with us using the contact form on our answerbase and we will be able to run through some troubleshooting steps to check that the plug-ins have installed correctly and work out why they're not appearing in your DAW.

  • I saw 4 gain inputs were very low in the specturm display... about -16db each...is it the right way to set them?

I usually set every input gain at -6/-3 db

Would you please explain to me?

  • @Jackpiazza Recording at 24-bit resolution and peaking at -18dB is the equivalent of a 21-bit recording. This means that the noise floor as a result of the conversion is still significantly lower than can be noticed. Adding a little more noise to a signal is unlikely to ruin it, whereas clipping the signal may do. Setting the signal to peak at -6dB is still fine, however.

  • does this one allows the differnet monitor mixes on the outputs??

  • @utoob3r

what is your daw? sometimes you need to rescan your vst folder like for example Fl Studio.

  • Meant to say flakey drivers, sorry.

  • I use m-audio firewire which has 2 outputs , one from the mac and one to another firewire mac companion drive, every now and then it fails, flakey drives or pushing the cpu to far, it drops out the harddisc, then all reconnects again, using logic 9 express, macbookpro i5 8gb ram, 2011 2nd gen, and used mac keeper to spring clean the system, it still drops out, im sure its the poor drivers, so i will only use the mac companion for backing up although its faster than the built in hitachi drive at

  • can anyone help me with pro tools 9? i cant seem to figure out how to set the metronome on and its weird using the one on my keyboard because of the timing i hit record . so idk how to get around this problem so help please lol

  • When you use the Octopre into the pro 24 via optical cable. Do you then get all ten (otcopre and pro 24 together) mics going into your DAW (pro tools) as 10 seperate tracks?

  • Would this Interface be compatible with Pro Tools, and would I be able to record 24 tracks simultaneously?

  • @utoob3r You've probably not set the VST Plugin path right, in the DAW's preferences. I highly doubt that this problem is related to the audio interface :P

  • Who is the guy with the ultra perm

  • Questions:

    1. Can you record differnet intruments or vocals separatly and mix them togther

    2. how can you play instruments AND have the PRO 24 hooked up to you lap top and still hear what your playing from speakers elsewhere?

    3. Can you play previously recorded pieces and hear then while recording new parts?

    please respond!
