  • In case you have not heard, some of the guys that helped produce the movie "Hoosiers" are interested in making a film documenting the first 500 in 1911. They want to show the construction of the track, and the challenge that Ray Harroun faced in that first race.

Personally, the Delta Force Theme would be my choice for movie score. Think Chuck Norris will mind?

  • I haven't heard about that-

For the score- Well doubt ol' Chuckie would mind. . . I wouldn't either. That'd be cool as hell :-) But, I think by todays movie score standards, It'd be dated. I'd freak out if I ever heard it.

I'd be happy if they got Alan Silvestri to compose the score though.

  • What's the soundtrack ?

  • Its from the Delta Force movie/ ABC Indy 500 Intro.

  • Where on the net can i find the great pictures of the drivers and thier cars? This is a great slide show, thanks for posting.

  • The majority of these are from the Indianapolis Motor Speedways official site. Others from various sites- I can't remember them all- Artemis Images, DC Images. . .

  • I have not missed a indy 500 in 45 years,,the best race ever,, and great music

  • @racermac1988 I don't this would be a very good score for a movie about the first 500 because it doesn't really fit that time period too well.....but maybe at the end of the movie, just before the credits, they could play a montage that would have clips from all of the 500's that have taken place over the years, to show how far we've come in the last 99 years....Then they could play this song...and it would KICK ASS

  • A great decade of racing at the Brickyard indeed. Beautiful race cars, lots of speed. Mario, Mears, Fabi, Fittipaldi, Johncock, Ongais, Smiley, Sneva, Unser Sr & Jr, Bob Unser. Buick, Chevrolet, Cosworth, Judd, Porsche. Lola, March, Penske, Truesports. Indy, the ultimate racing experience, more than Daytona or Monaco. It takes huge kahuna's to drive 200+ lap after lap.

  • where did these pictures come from, i'd love to get them?

  • "But, I think by todays movie score standards, It'd be dated. "

Thats funny, just like classical music is any more modern :D

  • What an era of legends. It will take decades for the current crop at Indy racers to achieve that status...not a knock on them, it just takes time (with or without the Hollywood production that ABC/ESPN or whoever is trying to air it.)

Shame they don't use this music today...that "How Can You Go" garbage they use for pole and qualifying days is just awful!
