  • sure credit cards are nice to have but all they are is loan companys. There should be a law that after bankrupty people should not be allowed to have unsecured credit card for atleast 5 years. Secured onces are ok for car rental or emergency on the road. Now that I had to go through this awful situation filing chapter 7 I will not get a unsecured card until I have built 6 mo of payments in the bank for emergency; I never want to get in this shape again. Thank God its over

  • Not your area, I know but ..

I sent an email presenting my case to a # of Lawyers. Last night that email was pasted on Facebook by someone using a false profile. The profile listed very little info but maybe enough to figure out the culprit. Along with the description of my problem, my phone # & mailing address were in the email.

I thought I could trust this info to them but there's one who couldn't be trusted. Do I have a case against the person who posted that copy of my email on Facebook?

  • Nice thought but not true. Stuff may be reported forever by reporting agencies. Nobody looks past 4 years.

  • Hi, that was common info prior to the 2005 change in the bankruptcy code that changed the number from 7 to 8 years.

  • isnt it 7 years..? tahs common info...

  • It's true that credit card companies are full of surprises and do control the game (as you put it). People should think carefully before undertaking a new credit card with a credit card company where you have previously been a customer.

  • $2900 at %29 is $750 a month! holy crap..

STAY AWAY FROM PLASTIC! Pay that overdraft protection fee and stick with your DEBIT account.

    PEACE.
