To help people to understand what salvation is, how we receive it, and how it differs from just believing. Lots of people believe in God, but are not Christians. Even the demons believe and they tremble. Salvation is not a passive set of beliefs, it is the result of the action of the heart and will of a person receive the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ as their own.

  • Additionally, I find the claim that "believing in Jesus Christ makes me a Christian, and it's all that God requires." to be both intellectually and morally repugnant.

    If this were the case, you've condensed thousands of pages of scripture into one sentence. Additionally, this means your system of morals has one and only one premise: believing in Christ.

  • Where do you come up with this list of requirements for Christianity? You rattle them off, but I don't see any citation. And who has verified this? Certainly every sect of religion, inside and outside of Christianity, would come up with a different list, even if they used the same book.

    No one can come up with an universally accepted list for what might be the most important decision a person ever makes. And I think that's kind of a big deal.

    Again a Christian misdefines the words "repent" & "faith":

    Faith 1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions

    Repent 1 : to cause to feel regret or contrition

    2 : to feel sorrow, regret, or contrition for
