The breathtaking race for president begins.

*Within the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News Poll, Senator Barack Obama leads against Senator John McCain by 47% to 41%, which is a spread that is twice the edge he had in the previous poll in late April. The survey shows the challenges that lies ahead for both candidates. Obama continues to struggle among white men and white suburban women and for McCain, overcoming President Bush's low approval rating standing at 28% and a broad desire for change among the voters is becoming a big barrier. The six-point advantage against McCain expands when Senator Hillary Clinton is chosen as Obama's running mate. Between the choice of Obama-Clinton ticket and a Republican ticket of McCain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Obama leads 51% to 42%. The survey shows that the people prefer a president who would bring greater changes to current policies, even if that person is less experienced than a more experienced and tested president.
