You obviously haven't heard of "accents". I always butcher "Aang" because I have a Southern drawl on the long "A" sound, so I make it sound like "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG-U
H", and I always say "Sokka" as "SOCK-uh", overpronouncing "sock". It's even worse with "fire"; I always end up spitting out "FAR Nation". Give the narrator a break, he probably can't help all of it.
