(February 26, 2009) U.S. TV news finally focuses on Afghanistan why did it take so long? And what will they show us? Since President Obama announced plans to deploy another 17,000 troops to Afghanistan, the U.S. networks are finally setting up bureaus there. But while the American focus is on U.S. troops and the political implications of Obama's policies, the international media is telling a different story. From the Middle East, there are reports of missile strikes, civilian casualties, and Pentagon ineptitude. And Russia reminds the U.S. that they have been there, done that with disastrous results.

  • when will people learn? HISTORY has AFGHANISTAN as a country that has never been conquered.. you can hold it for awhile but then you'll leave it with your head, hearts and morale down to its lowest point... people there just want to be left alone and mind their own business, they dont want change, all they want is to live life day in and day out with the God-given land that they have...they are practical and simple, they will always resist change... going there is a sure suicide.

  • Once Alexander wrote letter to his mom, while in fight with Pakhtun's in Arachosia (now Kandahar), and said,

" i am involved in the land of a Leonine ( lion-like ) and brave people, where every foot of the ground is like a wall of steel, confronting my soldiers. You have brought only one son into the world, but Everyone in this land can be called an Alexander

  • @69tugotstinots69 tell that to your imbecile military,

  • When will we ever learn?

  • @69tugotstinots69 slow down there buddy why did afghanistan beat the soviet union oh yeah we backed them and sold them better weapons than what they originally had if not for U.S. afghanistan would be part of the soviet union now and your way of thinking is the same as the hippies in the 60s just give up rather than do what is necessary regardless of how long sometimes it takes a while but after a while you can break the afganis spirits

  • @69tugotstinots69 That being said... they never really repelled an attack. They just crawl back into their holes and wait.

  • @MrLucian222 It makes it easier if you kill the bad generations faster. My 2 cents.

  • Its amazing how absolutely delusional a president of the us can be and all his learned administration. Look at a map! It borders Iran and Pakistan! There generations of kooks ready to take the place of all those fundamentalist kooks you kill.! It will take generations and generations to change the area!!!! DON'T BE SO FUCKEN STUPID!!!!!!

  • @laninabellabella THERE A FILTHY RACE, They marry of there 12 year old girls, and have sex with there 12 year old boys!! the world would be better off without Afganistan

  • The more US have its fingers in muslim sovereign nation , the more enemies US created.

Lest these people that take up arms against the aggresors of their nation can forgive and forget about the injustices towatds the Palestinians, the brutal and uncivilsed occupation, the many Gulf Warts, the brutal war in Irag, the Abu Gharib & Guantanamo bay prison tortures and abuses and now the war wage in Afghanistan...there will be no end to the hatreds and no perhaps no peace in sight.

  • As long as the affected muslim nation failed to elect a strong leader as President of their nation, they are selling their nation soul to the aggressors and where the leader of the muslim nation is as seen as weak and puppetry, there bound to be nationalist who are proud of their nation ,their roots, their religion and their people that will take arm against the aggressors ...but of course they are known as terrorists!
