He is a wonderful player and a member of Kiyoshi Koboyashi's Ukulele Orchestra of Japan.

We caught up with him before a gig at Al Cafe in Ogikubo

He played Maurice Ravel's "Pavane pour une infante défunte" for us...

This piece was originally arranged for solo ukulele by Da-ima's teacher, Hideo Akiyama.

Da-ima is playing an Urabe ukulele...

  • This is by far the best channel on youtube!

  • Wow!

  • Really beautiful playing! So great to hear and see all of your adventures on your safari. Looking forward to your Australian one!

  • Thanks heaps! We'll be able to catch up when we come thru Brisbane! :)

  • Heavenly !! Ravel is one of my favourite composers and the ukulele is perfect for showcasing those dreamy chords. Also loved your fluid editing of the video. Another very enjoyable musical experience, Bosko and Honey !!

  • Thanks Suz! :) :)

  • Hi Bosco and Honey! This channel is full of treasures! Thank you for the work you guys are doing promoting this instrument.

"Pavane" is one of the most beautifull songs written ever. I would very much like learn it. Do you have any idea where I could find the tabs?

Best wishes from Scandinavian Uketown Helsinki.

    Esa

  • WHOAH!!! Amazing! I remember playing this as part of a classical guitar quartet--it took 24 strings...this master plays it so beautifully with only 4. Does anyone know what Uke he's playing (maker, size?) Looks like a tenor...THANKS FOR THIS!
