I also keep a laminated business card size full color copy of my photo id passport page and my visa page just in case I need it and carry it at all times. JC

Yeah, this seems to be a common practice in these countries. But did you know by law your supposed to carry your passport at all times? You can tell them you will give them a copy. They do need this information because by law the guesthouses and hotels are "supposed" to make a list and submit it showing the foreigners staying there. I Keep copies just for these occasions. I also do not carry my passport because of the fact that if it got stolen or lost I would have big problems.

What is a reasonable amount to pay per unit for electricity?

@lancer89032 Here the electricity is free with the room price. But just know the the cost per unit from the elect. company is about 3.5 Baht per unit.
