The problem with believing that God would not allow the Apostles (humans) to mess up is that God gave us free will...that includes the free will to err.
Christianity (from the Greek word Xριστός, Khristos, "Christ", literally "anointed one") is a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament.
This definition is what 'Christianty' is to me too. I don't need to call it anything else.
What and how people give and relate to each other, is between them and God. I don't believe in taking from one group to give to another group. The definition of wealth is in the heart of each individual person. Although I would not be classified as wealthy, by money standards, God has blessed me with many gifts and talents, so that I can be of service to others. It'snot about how much we have to offer, but about if we will offer what we do have. Government can't dictate that, but our hearts can!
I agree with tchapman1977, if you continue giving people everything they need, then they stop doing for themselves and expect more. And this is Saturdays With Tony.
I'm all for helping my fellow man as much as possible, but there DOES come a point where the help becomes a HINDERANCE. If you give everything a person needs to survive to them w/o them having to do anything to get it, then they stop doing for themselves & an ENTITLEMENT mentality sets in. Monetary wealth is trivial in the grand scheme of things, I agree, as you can't take it w/you into heaven, but if people stop doing for themselves, there won't be anyone to take the wealth from to give away.

i really like what Tony said at the end about how we need to stop preaching who we are and start preaching who He is. Very Good!
