Seely music has other great recordings including the late great Maynard Ferguson tribute as well as recordings of Bud Brisbois, Eric Miyashiro, Wayne Bergeron, Mike Vax and other great high note artists. Your making a mistake if you don't check out what Seelymusic has!

  • I don't play trumpet. Consequently, I don't care who has the biggest range, plays the most notes per second, or even the widest intervals. Chase wasn't just great because Bill was a virtuouso player. They were great because the tunes and the arrangements were also great. This music serves as a sad reminder of just what a tragic joke the current music industry is.

  • The women's libbers must have had their grandma panties in a bunch over this.

  • @Modes9 the music industry is bad because about 90% of it is computer generated

  • Great!!!

  • God I loved Chase!

  • my favorite Chase tune. ya...

  • @saxdrummer92 He did play with Maynard for a short time, but the person you probably saw that looks a lot like him is Lin Biviano. You can see Lin playing lead with Maynard if you check out the live recording of Shaft on you tube. Strong resemblance.

  • God i love Bill Chase. His arrangements are amazing and his high note register is just...well, just listen to any of his songs. I'm honestly not sure, because i'm an idiot when it comes to time and i didnt feel like researching....but i THINK he was a lead player in Maynard's band at a point. at least, theres a video with a player that looks like him lol

  • As a current 51yr old jazz musician, (still have fairly decent lead chops to GG even w. fatigued chops), this guys' high-note-energy & arranging ability is unequaled to anything existing today, even Arturo & Cat And., although they come close.

I've got to watch myself, I'm also a bird-brain, an AOPA member for 18 yrs, but am also a CPA member (chicken pilots' association) & recovering alkie.

  • @mynamisdan Nope, I heard about this song from my mother, who heard it on the radio when it first came out and loved it. I plan to check out their other stuff though when I have more time.
