The Bushcraft Groups (One stick fire challenge).

Second attempt, this time using dead standing willow. The wood was a little punky, easy enough to process, but a pain in the backside to keep in flame. Just about managed to boil the water. I used a small wooden peg to split the wood, my aim was to conserve calories by not throwing a huge rock at it.

@hobbexp Only just, I would count this as a fail though. My fire seemed to smoulder, rather than burst into flame. It has proved to me how valuable a cutting tool is, and choice of fuel. A very interesting challenge, thanks.
