On CNN this morning, right-wing radio host Glenn Beck said that Obama's victory meant it was a great week for African-Americans, but that it is even better for African-Americans that Bobby Jindal, who he "believes" is Indian, is being considered as McCain's VP.

@ivedigga I agree with Beck 100%- ethnicity and sexuality doesn't determine your political alignment. For instance I am an American, patriotic Republican of South Asian descent. I also happen to be bisexual. That doesn't mean I can't want lower taxes, be against abortion and want Christianity to be present in America. Jindal isn't a puppet- just cause of his skin doesn't mean he has to embrace "Indian" culture and speak like an "Indian".

@murcielagoboy one has to be christian though, every presidential candidate has to literally grovel & repeatedly prove his/her 'christian faith' before having any shot at the office, compare this to India which is 82% hindu but still has a catholic italian as the most pwerful politician, a sikh as the Prime Minister, a muslim as the Vice President, a muslim as the last President etc. US and west has a long way to come before it becomes a truly tolerant & civilized society.
