  • You need two things to deserve to be successful: a good business mind and a genuine talent for writing.

Meyer's got the first one. Paolini's got neither. Rowling's got both.

  • Men who sparkle are usually gay.

  • @Mariana634 But Twilight fans respect Rowling's book because they are actually well written, while Potter fans think other wise of Meyers

  • @Eladas334 what if you don't have a good business mind?

  • @Sternhof What do you mean? I was responding to what Eladas was saying about authors needing to "deserve to be successful". To me, that makes no sense. I don't really think anyone "deserves not to be successful" (unless, perhaps, their rise to success somehow involved them doing unethical things). Being a bad writer or having poor business acumen might make you *unlikely* to be successful, but if you are successful anyway, I say good on you. Like I said, I'd take the millions of dollars. ;)

  • @jprt1990 you're arguing with invisible statements.

  • Sparkly Mosquitos XD

  • @Eladas334 So you think Paolini and Meyer are "undeserving"? OK, but if you were offered a prestigious book deal and you honestly felt you weren't that great a writer (and other people said you weren't), would you turn down the offer? I wouldn't. What harm are you doing by accepting? People are free not to buy your books.

IMO, they're terrible writers. But I can't begrudge them their success. I can laugh at the poor taste of people who like them, but I can only congratulate Meyer and Paolini.

  • @Eladas334 Paolini's writing and storyline 's great imo.

  • I'd love to see this woman surrounded by Anti-Twilight fans.

    Now that would be funny.

  • Before stephanie myer ... nobody used to cringe about vampires, but now when i tell people the novel i am writing a novel about vampires, they DO cringe and ask if it's like twilight. And it isn't like that at all. Stephanie myer tarred vampire novels with a bad brush!

  • why you came here to critic ?! if you dont like, why you see the interviews ?!

    Very smart.. --"

Respect the people that like her and like her books !

Like we respect (in my case) people like Rowling´s.

    ;) Peace
