Oldest American Muslim organization broadcasts message of love, loyalty and peace in Times Square.

What started in New York in the aftermath of failed Times Square bombing attempt, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's (USA Branch) nationwide Muslims for Peace campaign comes back to New York City for a bang.

"Muslims stand for love, loyalty to America and peace—and an electronic billboard in the heart of Times Square will broadcast that exact message every hour, 18 hours a day, for one month through the holiday season and into the new year," said a community press release.


According to the press release, the advertisement on the CBS Spectacular Electronic Billboard is the latest effort by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the oldest Muslim organization in the United States, to spread awareness about Islam's true teachings through its nationwide Muslims for Peace campaign.

The press release says that since the campaign was launched in New York after the Times Square terrorism attempt in May, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA has delivered its message of peace on 100 New York City transit buses, on billboards in cities around the United States, and by hand distributing more than 500,000 peace brochures in towns and cities across the nation.

"In light of recent terrorism attempts in Oregon and Maryland, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has redoubled its effort to guide both Muslims and non-Muslims alike to the true, loving and peaceful teachings of Islam," The press release read. "The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community advocates zero tolerance for violence and terrorism and invites all Muslims to join in its peace effort."

"As Muslims who believe in the Messiah, we recognize that it takes more than just denouncing terrorism to eradicate this menace to society," said Nasim Rehmatullah, vice president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. "That's why, in addition to spreading a message of peace for the last 120 years, our community guides Muslim youth to understand that there can never be any contradiction between being observant Muslims and loyal, law-abiding citizens."

I am an Ahmadi and seeing videos like these makes me very proud to be one. I plan to serve in the United States Army to show love for my country. It's ironic that other Muslims go against Ahmadiyyat when in fact we display the most Islamic traits of any of the sects. LOVE FOR ALL HATRED FOR NONE. All I can say is, if you guys indeed think we are practicing the "wrong Islam" why do you care so much to punish us for that. If you think what we believe in is wrong than just mind your own business.

...Islam teaches us to be just in the way we see and analyse things. I do not condone American injustice, nor do I condone Pakistani injustice. My point is that politicians would do anything to attain their political vested interests. We can do only as much. The way Islam has been misused by the "Muslims" themselves has damaged the interests of Muslims much more than any outside influence. Peace is only possible through Islam and Islam can only dominate by its beauty, not force.

@jihadifanclub 1. It is the life of Holy Prophet (pbuh) that is the perfect model for us. Islam was spread by nothing but its beautiful message and nothing else. If there were any instances where force was used unjustifiably used in the name of Islam after Holy Prophet and Rightly guided Khalifas then that is ones' individual faith, nothing to do with Islam. 2. No worldly government today acts with justice. When you see American injustice, why don't you see Pakistani injustice at the same time..

When you read the history of the sacred life of our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in detail with pure heart, you see nothing but a Prince of Peace who never waged an aggressive war. If you happen to live in a Nazi Germany or a Nazi Pakistan (where Ahmadi Muslims are treated with extreme injustice), don't co-operate the anarchists. If that is not possible then migrate from that land. Arabia at the time of Holy Prophet was NOT one country rather individual tribes!

Holy Prophet (pbuh) and his followers were persecuted by the Meccan rulers for 13 long years, Holy Prophet never retaliated against the rulers aggressively being in Mecca. He instructed his followers to endure this persecution or migrate. Holy Prophet himself migrated from the land to safer and much more hospitable Medina. Holy Prophet (pbuh) became the ruler of Medina and defended Muslims from the aggressors...

@IslamAhmadiya What hadith says be loyal to the country you reside? Should a Muslim in Nazi Germany be loyal to his country? Was Muhammad (pbuh) loyal to the rulers of the Arabian Peninsula or did he take it over through jihad and establish the Shariah?

These people in the video are American Muslims who are doing a great service to Islam for the sake of Allah by reaching the their fellow countrymen and telling them about the true values and teachings of Islam. ...Defensive wars under a legitimate government for the protection of ones' country against the attackers is certainly in line with the teachings of Islam. Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Islam has never discouraged anyone from that right. Politicians everywhere in the world will do whatever they can to achieve their vested interests. @jihadifanclub Everyone of us is a victim of some one else' injustice or selfishness. The amount of injustice that prevails in a society like Afghanistan's or Pakistan's is beyond description. A true Muslim should not be a hypocrite. We should see everything and everyone regardless of ones' background and religion with the same scale of justice. What do you say about the constitutionally/government backed systematic continuous persecution of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan for our faith?
