The 41st Tokyo Motor Show 2009, one of the premier auto shows, was opened to the media on October 21 and 22 at
Makuhari Messe in Chiba City.
The show period is 13 days from October 23 through November 4, 2009. Exhibitors include 2 governments, 2
organizations, and 109 companies from 10 countries and 1 region. This show featured 39 world premieres and 22
Japan premieres. The theme of this year's show is "Fun Driving for Us, Eco Driving for Earth," expressing the idea of
balancing enjoyment and the environment. Along with providing information on cutting-edge technology and products
to the world at large, the show seeks through various special programs to create as many new automobile and
motorcycle enthusiasts as possible. Passenger car test-drive is one of the programs that allows visitors themselves to
drive the latest models including next generation vehicles.
The Car of the Year Japan Executive Committee hosts a display of the winners from the first 29 awards, as well as
the candidates for this year's award. Press Briefing was held on 22nd to present the 2009-2010 Car of the Year grand
prize to Toyota PRIUS at the show venue.
