  • @peanut5095 I am pretty sure I have heard this argument before... Besides being shiny the top 25 Hospitals in the world happen to be in the US... All of the talking points that you list have an infinite number of contributing factors that could change the outcome of the results. You need to compare apples with apples, I like the total cost per person, just like any product or service. You pay for what you get.

  • @lingeringmethane

I would like to know how you are reaching the conclusion that the US has the best health care in the world. Infant mortality rates - not the best. Life expectancy - not the best. Total cost per person - not the best. Number of nurses/doctors per person - not the best. General standard of living - not the best.

Exactly what makes you think it's so great? Because hospitals are shiny?

  • @peanut5095 Health care reform, necessary, but not the job of the feds. we need more defined efforts to stabilize facets of the industry as opposed to creating a bill that will lead to the destruction of the private sector, which has produced the greatest health care in the world. This is simply the wrong bill. The Feds need to be put back in their box and the States need to start asserting their power. It is what the country was founded on and it is the right answer to the riddle.

  • @peanut5095

Freeing the sick from the insurance companies, we have already upended our system with bad medicare/medicaid programs... the fraud/waste alone in the systems could pay for most European countries health care systems. The biggest issue... the Fed govt has no business in the issue. It is not listed in the enumerated powers of our Constitution... reference the 10th Amendment... Health care should be a state issue at worst and a personal issue at best.

  • NIce speech !

But the sleeping dragon has been defeated before, that's what the civil war was all about! Kentucky Resolutions was used to defend slavery - how about freeing the sick people from the insurance companies. What about their liberty to change jobs without going bankrupt?

  • Nice speech!

But, the sleeping dragon was defeated before, that's what the civil war was all about!

  • When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. ~Thomas Jefferson~
