The 2:00 Minute Warning: Important Information about the USPS and the Highway Fuel Tax

There are issues on the horizon that are awaiting direction from your Congressman and Senators. The decisions they make (or avoid making) regarding these issues will affect your supply chain in the future. In this 2:00 Minute Warning we discuss a couple of these items:

1. The United States Postal Service is broke! They have hit their spending limit and have a $5.5 Billion payment due at the end of September. Where will they get the money for the payment? More importantly, will Congress give them the authority to make the changes that need to be made in order for them to survive in the future?

2. With the $0.184 highway fuel tax up for expiration, Congress needs to approve the continuation of this tax or figure out where they will get the money to fund the Highway trust fund.
