gybe talkin'

At the request of one of the crew over on westcoastpaddler.com who wanted to see what the kayaker/sailor is doing while the sail is in use. You'll note that as I gybe (turn) I sometimes use the paddle as a second rudder for a quicker turn, and to have it ready on the upwind side to lean on if I get rolled towards the lee (downwind) side. Though it's not clear in the video, while running straight, I keep the paddle at right angles to the boat, with the bowmost blade edges angled up a little, so I can lean on either side with a skimming brace if needed.

Do u think it would be feasible to connect this sail to a bicycle ?

Not to a regular two-wheeler - it'd be far too unstable if the wind was anything but straight behind you. I think I've seen four-wheeled go-cart things on TV with a sail - but they're lower to the ground and have a wider wheelbase for stability.

I own a Pacific Action 1.5 sq-meter sail and it's WONDERFUL. I live on a lake and whenever the winds are 5+ mph (up to around 20) it's nice to get out and just sail around.

Can you buy the sail separately? Or do you have to purchase a kayak with the sail attached?
