High Power Rocket Launch onboard video.
Motor N3200, rocket approx. 50 lbs., 7,400' altitude in about 20 seconds. Successful recovery of both the rocket and the liter bottle of Crown Royal Whisky onboard.

  • Yes. The launch directors had a waiver filed with the FAA. 7,400', while high, is nowhere near as high as some enthusiasts fly! 25,000' and higher is not uncommon but is dependent on the geographical location and the waiver issuded by the FAA.

  • The main did come out at apogee due to the heavy rocket and too small shear pins.

    The wind was absolutely calm that morning. It landed within several hundred yards of the launch pad. A very easy recovery, actually.
