Drip.

After watching this the first time, I told myself this video could never be subtitled in a way that wouldn't ruin it. Well, I tried my best to prove myself wrong, because it is a pretty great song and video. Hachi sure is awesome.

And on an obviously totally unrelated note, Aegisub can be pretty dang fancy if you want it to be. And have the time to make certain effects.

I'm aware that since the subtitles fit the lyrics in the video, not straightforward with the song, they can be hard to read at times. If you have a problem with that, I hope that being able to see the lyrics plainly on the lyrics page linked below is acceptable.

1:19: I didn't notice this until after the video was processed and everything, but I'm not sure I could have approximated it anyway - the two kanji for "promise" are holding hands. Man, Hachi's really good at this.

1:42: I missed a line. It says "Not everyone can enter." on the right, and the subtitle that's actually there is what's on the left.

  • Why are there different versions of world end umbrella? i've seen nico nico choruses versions and they're kind of different.

  • @Everydayfreakingday This is the original, THE WORLD END UMBRELLA. Hachi later did a remake called WORLD'S END UMBRELLA for his first album, which also got a new PV by Minakata Laboratory. (I've subtitled the remake too, naturally, since a number of the lyrics changed.)

  • wow! You did a really good job with this!

do you happen to have the mp3?

  • Hachi posted one (and a karaoke version), but it was on Piapro, a Japanese site that you need to register on to download from.

But I just realized that I could upload it somewhere more convenient myself, so that's what I did. Edited the link into the description.

  • (last comment o.e)the song described the white figure being far off and soon disappearing, because that represented their fading hope. However, they soon reach their freedom from the "trapped" village, and continue their lives together in happiness, never looking back upon the village.

  • (comment part two)and when it walked into the caged room, that was the feeling of being "trapped" completely showing itself. Before this, they were telling the adults about how they were "trapped", but they all thought the two crazy, and tried keeping them apart. Soon afterwards, the two try running away, but no one comes looking for them because they all thought the two were crazy, or mentally unstable due to their ideas of being trapped. At first, escaping seemed hopeless, which is why

  • (comment part one)I...I just had to find my own meaning > u <. It just came to me man~!

Okay, I think this song is about a small village that has been essentially "trapped", and they've all been "trapped" for so long, it seems more like home now to them. However, the boy knew differently, so he took the girl and told her about how they are all trapped, and at first she thought he was crazy, but soon believed him. The white figure that they were chasing was their freedom from the village

  • Aww! I love the story and the way you subbed it was amazing :3

  • @KisamierofRuairi No, the author of "World's end dance hall" is Wowaka, this author is Hachi x3

  • o.o I just thought... What a good movie this would make. eue

  • @funjojo678 I think it's by the same person.

    But I'm confused.

Is this the Hachi who made Matryoshka ?

    And isn't AaAaAAaAaAAa made by Hachi ? o -o

  • IT'S LEN~!!!

  • Whoa, this is so epic. I think I like the lyrics to this version a bit more, though I do love the remake quite a bit.

  • @vgperson is it legal to download it??
