today it´s small. Only small modells ore animations can be shown. But think about the future! think about 3D-Displays of 42" and more. displays like that will be the standart in 20 years. awesome

it's like a lavalamp but shitty :P I think this is bullcrap. I read somewhere that the only way for us to make holographic images is to beam em on a wall of smoke or something.

Fool, this has nothing to do with holograms.

This is the most innovative 3D display because it doesn't require glasses.
It's a prototype and a very good one at that.

You don´t have to know with everything what it will be used for in the future. But I assume that it will be used for war-technology (to disguise complete airplanes, tanks and ships by capturing what surrounds the plane and projecting it to the other side) as well as for entertainment and as well for useful work (maybe to develop displays which you can change to any form and size you like).

Personnally i base myself on that to imagine what viewing devices will be in 12 years. You'll have HD maybe 4K 100 inches stuff like that in your living room for the price of today's tv.
