Testing the new Sony SX40. Mounted on a tripod, controls set to Easy in SP quality mode. This is a hard place to shoot due to the palm fronds and afternoon sun about to set behind me. There is a fountain near by!

  • Mr. KLICKYOLI, I have no idea? I have a handful of 4 gig cards and almost no computer skills. whaleshrimp

  • The light level is very important for the SX-40. If you experiment with the SX-40 enough it produces good quality for its price range. I found the Sony HDR-CX-100 to be a far better camera for about the same $, again due to what Sony has put into it. Whaleshrimp

  • Robobobo771, The quality of the video is straight out of the camera with no enhancements. I shot all my Sony demo videos while healing up from a knee operation at home. That means I shot lots and lots of clips with each camera and choose the best ones for the videos. I experimented with many light levels and turned off most of the software like the stabilizer that run in the camera and used a tripod all the time.

  • Yes the Sony Memory Sticks go directly both my computers. If not adapters are cheap available to fit most any computer slot. whaleshrimp

  • phwmovies is correct. I am testing it now and it is way better do to what is inside it. I recently posted HD Banana Bees 1 and HD Mosquito drinking nectar and Busy Bees 4 not in HD but also from a new Sony HDR-CX100. I have the PAL model. Enjoy whaleshrimp

  • how long can this record continuously? Will it stop at the 4GB limit or will it continue until a 16GB card is depleted?

  • was the video quality edited at all? with color correction?

  • Can the Sony Memory Stick easily be inserted into the computer?

  • Not as good as the cx100 in hd quality

  • I bought the DCR SR-47 , like 2 months ago.

    Best for making DVDs.

I also bought a battery that gives literary 10 hours of recording time.

Couple that with 60 GB hard drive and away you go.
