Now how did I miss this, I just love Eydie Gorme, most people sadly say "who", what a voice. BTW, doesn't that kiss break the, what was it, 3 second rule! Remember that? :))

Yes, it's become a huge hit in UK, you can catch it on BBCIplayer. It is just like being back in the 50's, but the series is more romantic than it really was. Life was very desperate for women those days - always pregenant and a high infant mortality rate and childhood diseases. I caught polio in 1954, disabled ever since. There was still rationing after WW2 which the series doesn't show. My mum had been VERY friendly with 'Yanks' from Airforce Base in Wing, Bucks! Thanks for posting.

@theonearmedbandit1 Thanks for the personal insight into the programme and 50's life. I didn't arrive on the scene until '61.

I heard this last week on Call the Midwife. Oh my, not heard it since 1958. Those were the days of fantastic music. Brings back such memories!
