@elmnt4lfe127 yes it's my first bike, and I do not plan to upgrade anytime soon ;) I wasn't a big fun of yellow too until I got this bike. Yellow is the most visible of all colors so it gives you some extra safety too!!

@connexwolf I know you posted this 4 months ago but the starter button itself is known to go out on these bikes. Try switching out the right side controller

just a question, did you made you one adapter? or did you got one from leovince?
I ordered the exhaust but had no adapter with it! so i am thinking to make one out off stainless steel! . by the way! it is a great beginner big! i am 6,3 and weight 189 pounds i did 55.000 km in two years. the bike is still running like new! I did always my service. valve adjustment every 20tkm, oil every 7tkm, filter, sparks, and i would recommend thicker fork oil! + progressive Springs. So much better handling

@Resch60gmail The adapter, called flange, is custom made from 5mm thick steel.

did you run the stock jets in the carb? cause I got a stage one jet kit from dyno jet and I can't get it to run right.

@2000blackstang I had a dyno jet kit at first and made it run right pretty OK but I was never sure whether it wasn't too lean or too rich so I ditched it and replaced it with Mikuni jets but larger than stock diameter. Go to GSTwins forum and find user Buddha, he know exactly what type of jets you need and he will sell you a set with replacement carb screws for 25-35 buck I believe. You could buy directly from mikuni and save COUPLE dollars but I just found it easier to get it from board member

so ive heard and read that this is a great beginner bike. would this bike fit me? im about 5'7" maybe and around 140 lbs, all muscle. im a lean skinny type person. also do you think this bike is a good deal for the price, suzuki's current msrp is about 5 grand.

@astaschak I definitely would recommend GS500 as a first bike. I previously rode moped and YZ125 few times, then I got my GS500. I have done 3000 miles so far. I know it's not much but for first 2-3 years I liked to take things slowly (I live in NYC and car drivers here are blind!)
I am 6 feet tall and weigh 155 pounds so you should be fine with your size. I can easily put both feet flat on the ground so you should be able to put at least one flat without lowering the bike!! -> look at next post
