Canadian filmmaker boycotts Tel Aviv's queer film fest

Canadian filmmaker John Greyson is pulling his documentary Fig Trees from the Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival to protest Israel's actions in Palestine. Yair Hochner, the artistic director of the festival, is surprised by the move and thinks that this boycotts hurts both Arab and Jewish queers.

I find it weird that most gays arent even accepted in Gaza or the West Bank. Some Palestinian Gays have been killed for being gay and yet, the gay community looks different at them. I know its fun to show solidarity and protest what you believe in, but 95% of what the queer community believes will be conflicting with Palestinians who arent as open to homosexuals as Israelis are. They love your support, but they will not recognize you as gays. They will even threaten you. Shame!

This week the United Nations voted to remove a reference to sexual orientation from its resolution against extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions.among those that voted against was Israel. so to all of you gay people who are so concerned about the Palestinians rights ( you know, the people who voted for Hamas that calls for the destruction of Israel and Jews all over the world ) - when you go to sleep with dogs don't be surprised to wake up with fleas.

why do they call it a seperation wall? It was put up after countless suicide bombers coming in from the west bank. This isn't a secret it is fact. The wall did it's job. It stopped maniac suicide bombers from blowing up more children and women which is exactly who they targeted yet now its being branded as an apartheid wall? This shows the ultimate hypocrisy that exists in this argument. No acknowledgment of the actions that led to the situation only lets look at what israel just did

Islamic sharia law calls the the execution of gays. Go to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, etc. and see. I can assure you won't see any gay pride marches in these countries. You loons think Pat Robertson is bad because he preaches to love the sin but hate the sinner. To quite the lyrics from a popular 70's song "You ain't seen nothing yet"
