  • Hi. I don't want to bore no one but i don't i don't know the word "schwa" or something.

    Can somebody answer me it?

  • @ewertonsoad Do a YouTube search on "Rachel's English schwa" and you'll get a video explaining that!

    Best,

    Rachel

  • i was hoping to hear "can't", i'm still not sure how exactly you pronounce "can't" in american

  • @nightspotlight Why then, you should check out my video on Can vs. Can't! Searching "rachelsenglish can vs can't" will get it for you.

  • your videos are great! congrats!

do you have videos about the 'a' as in bat/can, and the 'a' as in bug? it's very difficult for Spanish speakers. I've seen some æ as in bat, but nothing about 'a' as in bug (the most difficult in my opinion)

    thanks you so much,

    josé luis.

  • @subscripciones I have been working with some Spanish speakers and have noticed the difficulty with comparing these sounds. I don't have any videos specifically covering a comparison, but I'll work on that. In the mean time, I do have a video on the BUG sound, I call it the UH as in BUTTER sound, and you can find it in my playlist of 33 Sound How-To videos.

  • Hi rachel, i'm from morocco, thanks for all your videos

  • As always very clear, thumb up, thanks so much

  • I remember going to L.A. once, and asking a hotel receptionist to call a "cab" for me. But all I got was a raised eyebrow... I inmediately realised that I was actually asking for a "cub" and not a taxi XD. I learned the sound difference the hard way XD. Your videos are so useful Rachel!

  • @VietnamEyesTalk Yes, you could think of it as being "kin" -- reduced ɪ and ə are basically the same sound. However, "I can" does not sound like "icon" -- The vowels are not the same.

  • yes,thank you a lo teachert.
