@mbncd I've gone through almost exactly the same thing recently. You can't go back after the illusion shatters, it seems :/

I know what you mean by bottling up everything. It is not a wise thing to bottle something up--the longer we hold onto it, the worse things can get. However, I really think that after sometime you will be able to analyze everything, reflect on it, and set boundaries in the future. You have to stay true to yourself.

I haven't found a happy medium yet. For my entire life, I wore a mask of what I thought others wanted me to be, trying to be "normal", but it lead to an emotional break down last August (after several "mini-breaks").
Before that, I bottled everything up and smiled whenever anyone looked at me and responded when others spoke to me even when I didn't know what to say etc.
Now I can't recover from that break from over 6 months ago. I've shattered my reality and don't know what to do now...

Well, in my case I would say that I really just got tired of trying to be someone else because it was just too emotionally painful. I think for the most I have found a nice-medium. Anyway, I would love to see your YouTube post when you put it up.

Thank you. Feel free to post it on your YouTube.

would you mind if I posted your video to my facebook page? You have worded very clearly alot of the things I feel.
Trying to just be yourself is a struggle most people face. I think all people put up a fascade at one time or another. Very good video. I like being who I am too and I just turned 30 so it can take a while.

I think you're right. Most people do try to act like someone they are not at some point or another. I think with autism this is magnified.
