  • why did WHEC-TV uses the same national anthem as WABC-TV using it.

  • @geekgirltv2011 I think it was quite common to see the identical national anthem films (which were frequently produced elsewhere and acquired for use by the stations) on different television stations and networks

  • Where'd you get these retro ROC gems at?

  • @Crowflug Typically from old Betamax tapes, both ones I've found as well as recordings sent by friends...you never know when these things will turn up.

  • What movie were those end credits for at the top of the clip?

  • "Hustle", with Burt Reynolds and Catherine Deneuve

  • That "House Of Guitars" Ad seems like something out of the 90's! That dry sarcastic voice, etc...

  • House of Guitars is a Rochester institution.

  • @1518karen Yes, when people cared! And I'm no waa waa liberal!

  • Those were the days when mom stayed home with the kids, we all ate dinner together, and TV signed off so folks could get a good night's sleep and GO TO WORK in the morning. Yes, I know, some waa waa liberal with have a comment on this.

  • For what it may be worth, all the advertisers you see in this clip are still in business in Rochester 32 years later, although the office furniture guy has moved across town.

  • 4:59-5:04, I find that rather scary.

  • @kstarpictures Definitely. I too have noticed it has a style quite ahead of its time. Oddly enough, I remember watching that ad during the early 90s, and it didn't look "dated" at that time...so there you go.

  • This was about 10 years before the great network swap of 1989. I remember it well because I was annoyed that it happened. :(

  • @robatsea2009 Thanks!
